By proceeding with online booking or purchase of a Day-Ticket, you have agreed on behalf of yourself and all other members of your party to the Terms and Conditions of Viking Tours as specified.

Tickets

Viking Tours operates two types of ticket for sailings.

Flexi-Ticket

This ticket may only be pre-purchased online through Viking Tour’s booking partner FareHarbor. A Flexi-Ticket may be redeemed at any time by booking an available sailing directly with Viking Tours and presenting such ticket on boarding.

Day-Ticket

This ticket may only be purchased on board the ship at the time of the pre-booked sailing.

All pre-booked tickets are not transferable and not refundable. Day tickets purchased on board are valid only on the day of purchase.

Bookings & Payment

Bookings

All sailings must be prebooked with Viking Tours prior to the sailing time and date. Such sailings are subject to prevailing conditions and passenger numbers. Where it is deemed necessary by Viking Tours or the Captain, the Captain reserves the right to alter sailing times and bookings without prior notice.

Onboard Purchases

A Day-Ticket may only be purchased on board the ship in completion of on a pre-booking. By purchasing a Day-Ticket on board the ship, passengers agree to Viking Tours Terms and Conditions.

Online Purchases & Payments

All online ticketing is made through FareHarbor and is also subject to FareHarbor’s Terms and Conditions.

Sailing & Operations

Alteration of Sailing Times

Sailing Times may need to be altered without notice, specifically because of water levels, wind factors, minimum numbers or other conditions. Viking Tours reserves the right to alter scheduled sailings where circumstances or the Captain’s judgement dictates.

Refunds

No refunds are provided for missed sailings or connections due to the inability of passengers to arrive for the sailing or connection at the correct time. Passengers must arrive at the departure point ten minutes before the sailing or connection is due to commence.

Wheelchairs

You must notify Viking Tours at the time of reservation if you are traveling with a wheelchair, or if the need for a wheelchair arises after the reservation, then as soon as that need is known.

Damage to Personal Property

It is the responsibility of each passenger to adequately take care of personal belongings. Viking Tours has no responsibility for loss or damage to any baggage or personal belongings during the trip. Viking Tours strongly recommends that you do not leave your personal belongings unattended.

Where a personal item is dropped and falls into part of the ship with limited access, it may not be possible to return the item in the short term. Viking Tours accepts no responsibility for such items, though the item shall be returned to the owner if and when retrieved at a future date. The passenger hereby accepts and assumes full responsibility for any loss or damage.

Where a personal item is dropped overboard it is not possible for Viking Tours to guarantee the return of the item. Viking Tours accepts no responsibility for such items and the passenger hereby accepts and assumes full responsibility for any loss or damage.

Passenger Conduct Before and During Sailing

Passengers boarding or sailing on the Viking Ship must at all times obey the instructions of the Captain or a crew member. The safety of passengers, crew and ship are paramount.

Children must be accompanied by a responsible adult during a sailing. This adult is responsible for the conduct and safety of the child throughout the entire sailing. Viking Tours is not responsible for the conduct of any child or any consequences therefrom.
Viking Tours understands that for the enjoyment of the Viking Experience, movement or standing onboard during sailing may be necessary. This must be done with consideration to the safety of the passenger, other passengers, the crew and the ship. Passengers must keep their feet on the deck at all times.

It is not under any circumstances permitted for a passenger to dive overboard into the water, fish from the ship or carry on any activity unrelated the Viking Tours activity. Any breach of this strict rule will result in the removal from the sailing of the passenger or passengers. In all matters onboard the ship, the Captain’s decision is final.

Refusal of Boarding or Removal from Sailing

In the sole discretion of Viking Tours or Viking I’s Operator or Captain, anyone may be refused transport or may be required to disembark if it is reasonably believed that you:

  • are dangerous to others or to yourself
  • have engaged in, are engaged in, or are threatening to engage in behaviour that may adversely affect the safety, security, comfort, enjoyment, or well-being of other participants, suppliers (including Service Providers), Viking Tours representatives, or crew members, including, but not limited to, behaviour that is disruptive, verbally abusive, physically abusive, obnoxious, harassing, discriminatory, or obscene
  • have failed or refused to follow or are failing or refusing to follow Viking Tours rules and procedures or the instructions of the Captain or the crew members.

In the event you are removed, you may be left at any landing where the ship calls without any liability to Viking Tours or its representatives. Viking Tours shall not be required to refund any portion of the fare paid by you if you are removed pursuant to this section.
In the event you are removed, Viking Tours shall not be responsible for expenses for transportation or any other expenses incurred by you. Viking Tours shall be entitled to recover from you any costs or expenses incurred by it, its representatives or the crew members in your removal or the exercise or enforcement of this clause.

Assumption of Risk

All passengers are aware that weather conditions may be unpleasant or adverse and it is your responsibility to be prepared for such circumstances. You are also aware that medical facilities, other than basic First Aid, are not readily available during the sailing. During a sailing, you should be willing to  accept the risks and uncertainties involved as being an integral part of the sailing. Passengers hereby accept and assume full responsibility for any and all risks of loss, illness, injury or death and agree to hold harmless and release Viking Tours from claims of third-party negligence.

Viking Tours accepts no liability for any direct or indirect loss or damage, foreseeable or otherwise, arising from the use of the ship or any equipment or facilities, either in contract or tort, including negligence, or breaches of duty of care arising from any sailing or associated connection.

Wi-Fi

On board Viking I, Wi-Fi connectivity is offered by an independent third party with separate Terms & Conditions of usage. Wi-Fi connectivity is not guaranteed, may be unavailable and is often disrupted and slower during a sailing. Passengers shall not be able to download or stream movies or most video. Onboard Wi-Fi is best for emails and texting. The bandwidth cannot support any type of calling service or app.

Force Majeure

In the event of a Force Majeure Event, Viking Tours shall be excused, discharged, and released from performance to the extent such performance is so limited or prevented, without liability of any kind.

Viking Tours assumes no liability for any loss, damage, or entry of any nature in whole or in part resulting from an “Act of God” (Force Majeure Event) or any other condition outside its control.

Disclaimers

Viking Tours website contains links to other Internet websites outside its control. By continuing, you acknowledge and agree that Viking Tours are not be in any way responsible for the Content of any linked website, nor for any loss or damage arising incurred by use of such website.

Viking Tours is not liable in any circumstances for special, indirect or consequential loss or any damages whatsoever resulting from loss of use, loss of data or loss of revenues or profits, whether in an action of contract, negligence or otherwise, arising out of or in connection with your use of its Website or the purchases made.

Viking Tours is Dog Friendly

Pet Policy

Viking Tours is subject to the bye-laws, regulations and conditions contained in the publications and notices of or applicable to the Company. This includes the adoption of the Westmeath County Council “Responsible Dog Ownership” policy. This policy sets out the Council’s approach to encourage and enforce responsible dog ownership  Responsible Dog Ownership Policy (1,180kB) .

In addition to the Council’s policies, all dogs must be leashed and controlled by a person over 16 years, who is capable of controlling the dog, when onboard.

The Captain reserves the right to refuse passage and entry of any dog with the exception of guide dogs and assistance dogs under the Equal Status Acts of 2000-2018. The following dogs are restricted under S.I. No. 442/1998 – Control of Dog Regulation, 1998 and will need pre-clearance from the Captain to board the vessel Viking 1:

  • American Pit Bull Terrier
  • Bulldog
  • Bull Mastiff
  • Dobermann Pinscher
  • English Bull Terrier
  • German Shepherd (Alsatian)
  • Japanese Akita
  • Japanese Tosa
  • Rhodesian Ridgeback
  • Rottweiler
  • Staffordshire Bull Terrier

This includes every other strain or cross of every breed or type of dog described above.

Changes in Terms & Conditions

From time to time, the Terms and Conditions may be changed by Viking Tours without notice. Any changes shall come into effect on uploading the altered page.

Nothing in these Terms and Conditions, or on Viking Tours Website, shall confer on any third party any benefit or obligation.
