Athlone River Festival: Viking Themed

Join us as we embark on a journey through time, delving into the rich history of Athlone with fine food, water adventures and the Vikings will return in strong numbers. The Athlone Family Resource Centre makes a return of their street theatre performance on Friday the 31st of July with more details to follow. They will also have a host of events throughout the weekend for children and families.

Get ready to be captivated by the magic of the River Shannon with longboat and kayak battles by Bay Sports and the enchanting atmosphere that surrounds this festival on the August bank holiday of 2026.
